I'm running a single RE SX 12" sub. The box is 2.24 cubic feet and is tuned between 32 and 33 hz. I figured some guys would like this to give them an idea on how to attempt it. This is my second time using fiberglass and I don't think its too tough.

On to the pictures:

The port is longer than this, it just wasn't all together in this picture. I fiberglassed 3 more layers over the inside after I put the port in.

Test fit for top piece:

Fiberglassed and bondo'd, then sanded to get a smooth surface.

Still figuring out how I want to cover it. Carpet, vinyl, suede, gloss paint are all options.

I do not recommend drinking alcoholic beverages while doing this, the fiberglass resin will leave you feeling a litte "high":rofl::rofl:

Cool Setup!

I vote for carpet to cover it...

Did you screw your amp to your back wall? I'm thinking of doing mine this way. Screws stick out between the cab and bed?

Yeah I screwed it to my back wall. What you can do is use a construction glue and glue a 1/2-3/4" piece of plywood and screw into that if you don't want to screw into the back wall. My amp is pretty thick though so that wasn't an option for me.

Looks nice. I vote for matching carpet. Maybe a colored line-X would look ok too.
I'm having a hard time finding carpet that matches, I'm picky
i love to fiberglass anything i can :D imo base coat clear coat pait looks the best
I was thinking about painting it but unless it perfectly smooth it will look bad IMO
If you already bondoed/sanded paint it white! Itll look sweet the same as your exterior color all smooth as glass.
thought about this too but there's nothing else white in my cab. And I have a Denali Dash Bezel
Looks good Cornell, I have two of your sub's baby brothers behind my seat now.
love mine :) I like it a lot more than the 2 10" type x's I had
nice box. the one i have on mine hold two 12's and its down fire.

thats a huge ole sub. mine can only fit subs tat are 6inches deep max
This was about the only configuration that I could do to make this sub work without taking my back seat out. Haha, I'm happy the way it turned out.

A little :D My back wall and roof like to vibrate a lot. As well as anything sitting on the back seat and anything in my cupholders

Good thing I have a bunch of sound deadener coming on Tuesday

wonder if it would help to put dynomat (sound deadner) on the inside of the sub box

I may try this, seems like a good idea anyway

I've seen where people put dynamat on top of fiberglass and then fiberglass over that to add mass, that's about it though.

ya, my needles bounce pretty good too

My gauge's needles used to bounce, but I fried the controller for my nexus gauges somehow. :( New one should be here Tuesday or Wednesday though. :baby:
