Exhaust question

Lopking to buy an exhaust and just want an opinion should I buy a 5inch back or 4inch what is better

"What is better" is entirely subjective to the person posting the reply. Whats important to you? Loudness? Drone at highway speed? Grade of stainless? etc, etc, etc....

Do a search, as this subject has been talked about at length in the past. There are many companies who make decent exhaust systems.

I liked my 5" but it makes it tight to keep a spare tire. Also 5" is not as loud as 4" and it will help keep egt's a bit lower.

5"is louder and drones more than a 4" and does nothing for egts. Its all really what you like, its 99% appearance. I personally go 5" bc I lift my trucks and run 35's so a 4" pipe looks dinky on my riggs...

I personally like flopro exhaust systems in aluminized, they fit very well and do not rust at all...

It depends on the turbo,truck heights, truck models and tuning for the loudness and drone. I prefer 5" in stainless and always run the muffler.

X3 it's all preference. I had a 4" then installed a 5" a few years later.
If you're on the fence about it I would go with a 5" b/c you'll want it eventually.

The 5" is louder and drones more than the 4" I had before. I'm glad I upgraded to 5" as well.

Still have a three inch downpipe and then a four inch transition to the five inch muffler.

I have a 5" MRBP on mine, sounds very tame when unloaded and when towing its got a nice tone to it. I do not like exhaust tips so the 5" looks good

If you go from 4 to 5 there won't be a difference.. Now if you go from a stock dpf exhaust to a 5" straight exhaust, then yeah pry will see some drop.

I run a stack because the hot air rising vertically from the stack creates an updraft which creates a vacuum in the exhaust pipe which in turn helps to spool the turbos faster and decreases EGTs. Science. 4" or 5" won't make a difference. Just pick what you like and go with it. My suggestion is that if you're debating then go with 5" or you might kick yourself later down the road.

Plus the venturi effect if your stack is aligned properly with the top of the cab, double science.

Oh I would say we are way over the intake with the shit. It looks to be coming out of every end. Good thing we have turbos that can chop it up into compost.
