Excessive Black Smoke.

I shut off the Injectors one at a time and when I shot off injector 3, the smoke was drastically reduced..:(:mad::D:spit::eek:

Funny thing is, Injector 4 was the only one showing balance rates out of spec.

Replaced #3. Still smokes like a pig and idles rough. I'm gonna run over things again with my V2. Could the rough idle be the FRP? according to the logs the rail pressure is fine!?

if rail pressure looks smooth on the log and isnt above 5k it should be good

Ok, it smoked bad. I turn off injector 3; Smoke is drastically reduced. Replaced injector 3; Still smokes. Turn off injector 3, smoke is reduced even with new injector. ..FICM??

Could be low compression in cylinder 3, not burning the fue, are you sure you replaced #3 ? Not being a smart ass but my buddy replaced #3 4 times because he thought it was number 4. Number three is passenger side second one back

Not trying to insult anyones intelligence here but are you sure you are turning off #3?There was a thread on here about the DVTs for shutting off the injectors possibly not being in numerical order and maybe follwing the firing order.Dont recall if a solution or answer was ever brought up as to the correct order in the DVTs...

Thanks I'll try the unplugging trick..

It was the seconed one back on the passenger side. I almost started replacing #5 lol.
