Every now and then I have an issue shifting out of Park. I really have no idea where to start looking at this. Any suggestions. Truck has stock trans mods as outlined in sig and about 215K miles

Is the truck on an incline when this happens? May be an issue with the park pawl inside the tranny.
Mine is hard to shift out of park when on a hill. You have to pull pretty darn hard on the shifter. Luckily, the shift cable is stronger than it looks.
I suppose it is possible the park prawl is damaged and is catching, but you'd have to take the transmission apart to fix that. I'd say pull harder on the shift lever and see what happens. If this is on a hill, probably nothing to worry about.

Hmmm would you have to remove the cable to replace the transmission lines?
I just had that done. It also does not seem to make a difference on a slope.

You wouldn't have to, they are on opposite sides of the transmission. Did this all start after the lines were replaced? Maybe the shop kinked/pinched the cable somehow?
