s*it....is it too late to get in on the group by??? i have been trying to call trent for the past two weeks about ordering my twin kit

sorry if you havent been able to catch me , the phone is my nemesis, trying to find a balance of working and phone calls , if i answer every call I literally dont have time to build , have thought about hiring some one but no one but me can answer all the questions , leaving a voice mail is the best bet , I check them a few times a day and try to return calls with in 24 hours .

I was supposed to get mine today to install for Monday but no luck

ya that sucked Evan we hate missing a deadline but the tracking # showed them landing on Friday , the kit looked great you should be real happy with it.

Im gonna try to get one or two of his twin kits, hope I hear from him :):woott:

PM returned, call me and we can go over so different setups in detail .

Ya no worries i'm still waiting for the snow to melt anyways, and I gotta figure out the best way to get that tuning done

please tell me your hard on equipment cuz i sure cant deal with bent rods....

You will most likely be fine with the right tuning. Depending on how much power and the way it gets tuned is going to be key. Mine has been fine and with 30 overs hitting a pulse of 2800 holding 180mpa and 49-50psi of boost everything is good so far. Just pay attention to the tune! Remember though, there's no guarantee anything will last!

Wish i could say yes but i was on a 2900pw tune and only holding 21k of pressure (desired was 25.6k) and from my track times i was only at 550-560 hp. I have a feelin my motor was built on a monday

I think the 37s make it even easier to bend them, the only 2 guys so far to bend fonds with my twins were lifted trucks with 37 or 38 " tires, in general with s stock fuel systems its relativley safe.

2900? I would say that motor was weak. I run 3100 everyday even when I had the GT4094. I think when I had the PPE hot +2 that was 3250 PW.

We have a company truck at work with 165,000 miles never had a tune with a blown motor.

My truck has had a tune since 93,000 and a hot tune since 130,000 and I am at 192,000 right now.

So they are not all created equal

i noticed a big difference in how my truck feels and how the motor responds with going from 37s to stock size tires. the motor isn't as labored and spins up considerably faster.

raced my black truck for three years now in street and sportsman classes (so alot of passes) for the last three years on a stock everything pretty much, with 500hp and hitting 17-1800 degrees at the end of the track every pass. we took it apart this winter....the head wasnt even out of spec n gaskets barely starting to lift, we did gaskets just because. its also got 124,000miles on it . remember its a stock turbo tho.
my DD has just over 124,000miles and i blew the headgaskets last fall, just with mild tuning... this is the one i want twins for towing for, but def dont want more that 500-600horse in it...

Max pulse is not the way to judge if a tune is safe or not. Neither is "max timing" or "max fuel pressure". If someone ever tells you that there tune is safe for your stock motor because they only run a max of whatever, run away because they have no idea what they are doing.

To much pulsewidth, timing, or fuel pressure in the wrong place, and the rods will bend.

You could build a tune with a max pulse of 2600, and max timing of 25* and bend the rods if those numbers are in the wrong place, especially with the low end torque you can make with twins.

People like to throw around numbers saying things like 28* max timing is safe for a stock motor. Is it safe at 3100rpm's? It probably is. But is it safe at 2100rpm's?...... If not what is?;)

I know that but since it was tuned by somebody that knows what they are doing I am sure thats not the case

x2.

i even concidered the thought of bumping the shift points up a few RPMs but all i would be doin is droppin power with the rail pressure doin what it did. i was joking about blaiming it on trents tuning ;)
