LB7: Engine removal lb7

I got a lb7 duramax with Alison tranny. I have the engine ready to pull and I got the all 9 bellhousing and 6 torq converter bolts out and the transmission still Jack's up with the engine.. the bell housing hasn't separated from the engine at all..

All are out. Do you have to separate fly wheel from torq converter after unbolting them

Jack the trans up and stick the tip of a prybar in the gap. Slowly let the jack down and the wedge shape of the pry bar will slide the two apart.

I have all 6 bolts out I just don't know where to pry cuz I don't wanna mess anything up

Stick a pry bar in the inspection cover area. You'll have to try pretty hard to hurt anything

Ok tc is pryed off flywheel but the transmission will not budge off the engine

Spray some PB blaster on the dowls, call it a night, then pry it apart tomorrow. Don't over stress it, use the trans jack to move it side to side, up and down. It'll come out. Like Corbin said you'll have to pry pretty hard to mess something up.

Alright I alright I sprayed almost half of my pb on the dowls already. I'll see what happens tomoorow
