Simon and I put 1/2" Grade 8 in both sides in Abby. No really noticeable vibration or other issues to date.

At 11.01 passes:D:rofl:

I highly doubt solid mounting the trans/transfercase is necessary. In fact, I would advise against it in a regular chassis truck due to the amount of frame flex that happens.

1/2" grade 8 here.
Curious.........has anybody found a supplier for direct replacement poly mounts for tranny and transfer case?????
BTW.....I think sled-pulling is, by-far, harder on mounts than anything else we do with these trucks. That is when I broke my engine mount.

So if you solid mount your motor and leave everything else poly itll be ok? Or are you saying just put one solid mount on our driver side and leave the rest poly? I have muscle car buddies that have run solid mounted motors and cracked bellhousings because of them or thats what everyone thought anyway.

My orange truck had solid motor mounts and factory tranny mounts. We felt there is enough frame twist that if the tranny were solid something is going to give. my 2 cents

Grade 8 1/2" here. No issues for over 3 years.

Bolting works well. Just not much profit margin in it if you now what I mean.:thumb:

Your 2 cents is always appreciated Ed! I would do Johnboys mod personally. I dont have an engine hoist currently or I would have bolted mounts. And for the person who asked when these should be bolted I think anyone who really uses their truck (racing, pulling, or offroad) can benefit. I dont race or pull anymore but I drive up alot of steep muddy stuff in the winter and mine are still starting to tear.

I definitely recommend Johnboy's method for 99% of the people on here, especially any daily driver.

jordan, FYI you dont need an engine hoist....i used a jack and block of wood to keep motor up. i didnt even freeze the rubber and it took me an hour or so. tightened it to snug and she's held up fine.

Did you Jack it up on the lower oil pan or something of that sort?
