Lots of folk have been just bolting them, I would like to try something different. There was no price posted on the website. That would be an interesting number to see as well.

I called Merchants and inquired on a set a few weeks back , if i remember right the price was in the 3-400 dollar range , We can always use bigger bolts for free  they look like a good part but more than i will pay untill i see signs of the bolted mounts failing in my own truck .

Actually, it's the other way around Jordan. Most Domestic "weekend warriors" that use their vehicles on the street/strip, use a solid on the drivers side. They leave the pass side and trans either stock or polly. Then the vibrations from the solid mount have somewhere to go, saving parts. It's used on the driver side, because thats the side that the motor is trying to lift. I had a customer bust three tail shafts on a T400. He changed to poly mount's on the trans and pass side, and never had another problem.

What was the setup that was causing the failures?

To anyone that is wishing to solid mount your drivetrain: If you daily drive your truck I STRONGLY recomend that you reconsider. An engine solid-mounted to the frame of your truck will be the noisiest most uncomfortable thing, and besides as others have stated, you can have a good strong mount without having it be solid. I myself plan on simply bolting my factory mounts, I only plan on about 700 HP with my build, but I like the redundency of the whole idea. I really hate breaking things.

So if you solid mount your motor and leave everything else poly itll be ok? Or are you saying just put one solid mount on our driver side and leave the rest poly? I have muscle car buddies that have run solid mounted motors and cracked bellhousings because of them or thats what everyone thought anyway.

Those mounts arent solid. Eric had been thinking of doing these for a long long time. Good to see they finally came to fruition. They have poly cylinders between the pieces. (Yes, I looked at them up close last time I was at the shop). Very solidly-built pieces. He would like me to run them next year. He's been betatesting them in his shop truck and IIRC in another couple builds, and so far no problems. Youd have to ask him for particulars.

No Im not cheerleading....just stating what I know.

The idea of the mounts is really nothing new; it's only new in the Duramax. I had a similar set of motor mounts in a Toyota truggy I used to have. This is what I used to make them. I only used one bushing per side, but it was a little 3.8 V6 so...
