engine doesn't sound well.

I had recently added fuel and was driving on the interstate. The engine light came on and lost power. On star diagnosis was problem in fuel system. Any suggestions?

Are you sure you put diesel fuel in, and not gasoline?

It could just be your fuel filter may have water in it.Do you treat your diesel with power service or any other treatment? Could try heet approved for diesel to try and take out some water depending on how much you have in there.May have to empty the tank and get some good diesel from a known to be good sorce.

Could be lots of issues causing it. The erratic noise makes me believe its an LLY and may have injector harness issues causing it to run in 4 cylinder mode.
