Lapped the valves, and assembled the heads this weekend. Ended up getting pistons with valve reliefs since the 3388 cam is on back order. Got the 6480 instead :D

The 6480 lights my 72/483 combo incredibly fast. A few have commented on that including Kory Willis when he drove my truck. I think it would light a single just as well if not better.
Power range, comes on hard at 2200rpm, I shift at 4000. The 6480 the shifts should be 3900 to 4300 rpm.

With the 6480AF my truck is scary smooth at idle, even with MA motor mounts, very very smooth.
Most notice the truck sounds different with the 6480AF cam as well.

Awesome, I have the ATP (merchant) mounts as well. Im getting excited, hopefully they find the problem in the motor when they tear it apart. I took the pans off and saw no signs of anything failing. Im suspecting Main and/or rod bearings

Send him the money for a new turbo, I'm sure he'd be willing to swap it.:roflmao:

I'm just saying it's a lot easier while it's out. I'm in college, just finishing up building a motor, and still ended up with a Danville 72mm vgt. It's cheaper to do it now anyways instead of having to update the tunes twice. There is some cheaper options for turbos, especially used. Just a thought I guess.

It's not cheaper as I'm not changing my tunes. I already have a twin kit. The truck will get injectors and a 72 in the summer. Trust me. I really want too!

How can you afford to build a Motor and go to college?

I'm a full student and have a pretty active job. I personally can make ends meet with out debt and borrowing lots of money from the bank at one time, but, with that being said. just had the trans built and that was a good 6 months of scrapping money and still being able to eat :roflmao: but it can be done so I don't doubt you brother :thumb: hopefully head gaskets and a 4094R this summer.
