Long story short, my engine took a crap. We thought at first it was a headgasket breach but once the noise became worse it sounded more like a crank or spun bearing. Very loud knock noise at all RPM range.

I'm pulling the motor on Saturday morning, we will tear it apart and figure what exactly went.

As far as the motor goes, if it is indeed trashed, I will be going with a built short block from PPE along with manifolds and up pipes. Ill be strapped on my budget so injectors will have to wait. I have the air for 750 but not the fuel. ill stay at my power level for a few months then swap my stock turbo and injectors and step up the power. Going for 850hp. And yes I'm going AF on the cam. Any other suggestions from you guys would be sweet.


Also any tips on pulling the motor would be appreciated as well. I will be updating with pics as we go along. :thumb:

Sucks that it broke on you but now you get a built engine, so you've got that going for you which is nice. Lol. You could send your injector tips to extrude hone and get them honed out for around $300 for the set....

If your balance rates are good you can pull the nozzles off and have them honed to the size you want. My 100% lbz nozzles cost me around 750 from extrude hone. Balance rates were still very good when we put them back in the truck.

Got the motor pulled, no visible damage down to the pistons and cylinders.

Decided to polish the fuel rails, any idea on how to seal these so I don't get surface rust?

After researching for a little online I got a polymer sealer for polished metal, had good reviews and people said it lasted a while before seeing any sort of oxidation.

I heard a rumor that a couple guys have left Exergy and went out on there own, they are way more budget friendly from what I have been told. It would be worth it to investigate into that a little more. That's all the info I have, and it is just hear-say at that.

I think im going with Extrude Hone, Jim knows his stuff. Only down side is I don't get the injectors bench tested. But they were great before the motor went
