man, I would keep the single on it just for simplicity. The used kit isn't worth that much anyway. Look at all the room you have with the taller pedestal and fixed geometry turbo!! I love having the extra room to get to things. :thumb:

The extra room is nice yes but i need my egr back in to pass inspection. Can't really run the egr with the 472. I kind of want instant spool back as well.

So here is a question...

how much more can this 6 blade 68mm 4094 wheel even flow compared to the stock lly 11 blade wheel?

I was measuring the 2 and comparing the numbers. The blade length from the hub to outer edge are the same on the stock turbo as the 68mm wheel. Basically the 4mm difference in wheel size is from a thicker hub on the 68mm wheel.

Exducer is 6mm larger on the 68mm wheel but considering the stock wheel has 11 full size blades...it would lead me to believe the stock wheel would flow just as much if not more than the 68mm wheel...This is all in theory of course but it sure seems to make sense in my head.

Stock wheel has 11 full size blades and the 4094 68mm wheel has 6 full size blades with an additional 6 shorter "half sized" blades.

so now I'm 2nd guessing spending the 200 bucks to have it converted.

I can't confirm 100% but the engine build may actually happen. A few unexpected (for the better) things happened this week and well, let's just say the truck is not going back to stock anytime soon...

if the build does happen, it will most likely be over the winter potentially starting in october.

So if people have suggestions on parts, specs or anything else, fell free to post it up.

I think my overall goal will be to run a 10.99 in my crew cab.

Reviving this thread. a few steps closer to actually building an engine.

Picked up a block and crank this weekend. Block looks like I will need to go at least .020" over. But it should clean up just fine.

Crank on the other hand, I am not so sure it is good. For $50 I figured I would risk it.

Plans are to have the block decked, bored/honed and have the mains align honed with ARP studs as well. I'm not sure when it will make it to the machine shop though. Going to call around this week and see what people charge and what experience they have with dmax stuff.

Only problem with randys machine is that you have to go through industrial Injection to get to him. He doesn't do outside work anymore like he used to, that's why I'm looking for other machine shops. There is one not to far away from me who did the head on my cummins, well known machinist around here so I was going to give him a call this week.
