Finally got some track times after my motor build. It was a pretty good budget build Pulled the motor out in October 2010 and got it back in 2 weeks ago. After we had got it in the CP3 exploded after 2.2 miles and sent metal through my fuel lines and took out a few injectors. So we had to do injectors on the right bank twice. Still not right but good enough to get some runs in this year before the LOOOONG winter. Thank you a bunch to Albert(Burn Down) for hours of help. Now for the build.
Motor:
Carillo rods, main and head studs, stock uncut pistons, keyed, welded water pump, so cal beehive springs. Everything but the machine work was done by us.
Trans:
Same SC III that I built 80k miles ago with a 1057 converter. Not a good idea really but out of money. The converter wouldnt lock for nothing.
Fuel:
60% over injectors on my stock injectors. I would never do this again. It was cheap but not right. They don;t flow the same and it is really tough to tune the smoke out on the street. LBZ 60% over single CP3, Edelbrock 1792 lift pump with Cat 10 micron water/air seperator and Cat 2 micron filter. Relocated the FICM to the fan shroud. No fuel going through it and have 1100 miles on the build with no heat issues. Just made a 700 mile road trip to the drag strip. I did not have to extend any of the wires, just move some grounds and move some grounds.
Turbos:
Bought piping off of Rhall from his old kit. Used a 50mm gate with a Elite Diesel wastegate spacer.GT4294 and a Garrett TV8403. Specs on the Primary are 88.36x116.84mm compressor wheel with a 111.5x101.5mm turbine wheel. 55psi pf boost total. Not enough fuel for anymore with one cp3.

Went to the track this weekend with a best of 11.75@110. I lifted right before the end because it was in the final round but I still broke out so I should of stayed in it. My 1/8th mile was 7.37@93mph and fell off real bad on the top. The converter was not locking at all. I held 24k for rail prssue with a
2100ms tune. I thought it would have had a better MPH.
I posted a lot of info because this was a big budget build and just want to point out what did and didnt work. The chargers are great matched and spool fairly fast. I cant wait to get the fuel to them.

No thanks needed Reece, you have helped me as much as I you:hug: I am proud to have been part of it with you.

Hats off to you for going outside the box. 11.75 on some shake down runs is a great accomplishment. I know a trans/converter refresh, some better injectors and a dual fueler.... & your in the 10's.

Also you don't have to have a endless budget and the best of everything to go have fun... And that's just what we did, had a blast! (just wish the blue POS would shape up, it's going to be a long winter....)

Sweet!

Everything but the machine work was done by us.
Who did you get to do the machine work?

Did you do anything else to the heads except change the springs?

I'm looking to do a winter build myself and looking for a machine shop that has done some D-Max work up here.

Glad you got it going before you lose the weather (and the daylight!). Congrats on doing your own thing too.

What would you do injector wise next time?

Northern Industrial Machine in Fairbanks did the hone, mag the block and crank and the balance job. They charged $600 and did good quick work, Just make sure if you get a quote from them make sure they print it out otherwise they will try and hose you.

Definitely do flowed injectors. I just threw 60 over tips on my old injectors this time.

Whoa! For real? What size and what pressure? I just put a set of 20" Nitto 420s on my truck.

Yeah that is the only way I had good ET's. I ran an 11.83@110 with a 1.50 60 ft and the 11.75 was a 1.49 60 foot. They are 305/50R20 I ran 25 in the fronts and 16 in the rears. 60" traction bars, straight centerlink with braces, stock leaf packs with kyb monomax shocks. There were a lot of bad ass drag cars there making for a sticky surface.

Updated

Just got my truck back on the road again. Changed a lot of things.
Got rid of the 4294 and put a Precision billet 7068 with a .68 a/r I went super tight hoping I could have fast spool while being able to gate the excess to the big charger....We will see how this works. So far it spools a TON faster then it did before. Still have tuning work to do.
Installed a GMAX kit and put in a 1055 converter. My c-3 altos that came out were smoked. I cant believe it lasted 80k miles though. Very impressive and they were just stock replacements.
Put a set of Kennedy 40 overs and ATS dual fuelers with a custom fuel block from Wherli Custom Fab<<< NICE PIECE. FASS 260 pump with 5/8 feed line and 3/8 return with a fuel sump.
Truck runs great I added some updated pics and a video from the first test run.
