Long story short, bought a block, crank and cam from a guy who had a handful of motors pulled from lb7-lbz and parted. Picked out the best of the cranks from his pile. Problem now is, I realized after the fact, depending on what year crank you have depends what balancer to order for my build. Now I’m aware this is for balancing Purposes of the rotating assembly. Markings on the cranks appear to have no rhyme or reason indicating what engine RPO it came out of. Is there a way to identify the differences? Or better yet, since the rotating assembly will be getting balanced anyway, does it even matter which balancer I order? For example if I were to order an lly balancer but crank turns out to be from an lbz, Will this cause issues getting the dang thing balanced? Not bad for a first post ay
