Empire diesel stage 1 valve spring fitment

Is anyone else running empire stage 1 valve springs? Their site and others say they work with stock hardware and retainers. However im finding that to not be the case.

The stock retainer is larger than the inside of the spring.

Can't help on your retainer fitment, unless you want the stock ones turned down.

I'd clean up that surface rust and make sure there's no pitting.

Surface rust on what? The old springs?

Retainer is .91
Spring is .82

I had the same issue had to get lbz retainers for them to work.

Just talked to empire and they verified lbz retainers are what I need.
