Alright guys I understand that the baro sensor tells the ecm which table to use during different elevations across the country on account of baro psi. I live which elevations are usually 4000-5000ft and the truck always uses the (C) tables which we all know is for low elevations. Well I pulled 10K this morning up to Colorado and peaked a summit of 11,530ft and noticed it was now running off of (A) tables even though I was still in dsp5 #2(tow) position. Ok now once I got over 6000ft it automatically begun to use (B) tables from the base tune. So heres my question when running my truck in dsp5 in #2 position(tow) is it automatically gonna be running off the base tune tables (B) (A) to compensate for the elevation? Or will the ecm automatically compensate the timing and vane position (C) tables in the dsp5 1-4 setting for the elevation? Truck is a stock LLY with exhaust, intake and turbo MP.

Since it's a tuning question and Rob tuned it..why not ask him? Not that there aren't people here to help you out, but tuning questions in public forum have always followed certain rules of thumb.

Since its a forum (designed to help people) why dont you let the tuners that are vendors here decide for themselves wether or not they are willing to give him advice or not. Last I checked youre not a mod and Blake asked for help which you have given none.

C tables handle below 5000 B tables handle 5-10 and A tables go above 10000. These will occur automatically.

Rob didn't tune the stock LLY im towing with though and all im doing is asking for a lil help :thumb:

Thanks S Phinney I kinda figured that was the range of elevations for the tables. But as soon as the ecm leaves to the (B) tables at 5000ft+ they'll be running off the base tune (B) tables correct? Reason im asking is I have serveral tunes from several tuners from years back when I was messin with my LLY in sig on which I really don't see no changes to the baro parameters for elevation change. And next Thursday I have to tow 10k from 8300ft here in Lake City to 11,530 ft in 10 miles 7 grade all the way up so I want to get the truck set up for the tug. I do my own tuning on this LLY but not to experienced on tuning for elevation as I really don't have to worry bout it in the desert of NM west TX.

The ECM will automatically compensate and use the table it needs to as long as the baro is working properly.

You could just change the tables for the given elevation.... say you want the tune to stay the same from 0-10000, just make the (c) and (b) tables the same.

Wny do you want it the same blake? the additional timing is nice when in the high elevations

Probably will be sluggish depending on how the timing is set up now. High elevation needs a little more timing especially in the low rpms and mm3.
