We are going to drop the fan finally on the pull truck. Can someone with a little more knowledge on turbulent forces assist me in my thinkings. I haven't measured what will fit yet but was thinking 6 8" fans on each side of the cooling stack. The fans I'm looking at flow up to 2400 each which would yield us 14,400 cfms a side. BUT my main question is. Will pulling from each side create a turbulence and make it less efficient vs just pulling from one side?

I run 2 taurus fans(around 3700cfm each) on my RC
usually one fan running is enough to cool it down & I think Ive only had both fans come on in low speed once or twice, never had it kick to high speed

I called perma cool.. Talked to Desiree. Said perma cool is under new management, fan lines are being completely revamped over next 6-12 months, everything is going to be built in house vs sub contacted, I expressed the specs stated are 2.5-3x higher cfm rating for similar aize at 1/3 the cost of of common fan rater for said cfm. And those fans are 2x the size and pull 3-4x the amps...
I current have jegs 10" @1000cfm fans not sure who makes them

Spal make high performance version that's 2x thicker and pulls 10-20% more cfm cost 2x more then current setup
This is their extremely per 11" does 2480 m3/h=1460cfm
https://webstore.spalusa.com/en-us/.../30102157/va03-ap76-ll-68a-11-p-12v-pksl.aspx

I'm looking at upgrading to spal fans.. Just have a hard believing their said claims

Because we can only run air to air intercooler. 6000cfm flex a lite will not pull enough across the intercooler to cool the air

I have no problems with my Flexlite fans on my. I no the puller guys do run exotic configurations on their setups but if it isn't running hot you should be good. You can't pull air from both sides of the stack. You could push air from one and pull from the other but I doubt it will be efficient because you might have air movement but it most likely won't be at the same temp vs pulling from one side. Also fans specs are just that. It moving free flow air isn't the same as moving that much air through the stack. If you could find a special that shows air movement through a specific media vs free flow numbers that would be most helpful in determining what is best for you.

I didn't say the flex a lite system didn't work. I'm just saying they don't move enough air by themselves to keep these high horse trucks happy while just moving 30mph with anchor in tow

The cooler we can get the charge air the more power we can make and since we can't run an ice tray or c02 spray, exotic fan setup is the only way

I knew what you meant and I'm not being argumentative at all, I really do want to know if you've collected data to support that?

Here's what we ended up doing. 2 Ford Taurus fans and 2 summit 16" fans

This is how my brain thinks of the push vs pull for fans.

Push fans tend to not have the same cooling capacity as pull fans. Push fans "compress" the air going into the stack. "Pull" fans create a vacuum, thus lowering the temperature of the air moving through the stack.

For the Spal fans, I think the LLY auxiliary cooler that was designed and built years ago used the Spal fans. I also think the copy of the cooler built used Spal or a similar Mfg.
