LBZ: electric fans in place of stock clutch fan???

Good Morning All!

Has any one done this? Replaced the stock fan with an electric fan? Any better fuel economy? Any thoughts on parts or anything really lol? I'm thinking about doing this but unsure is it will be worth the hassle and cost:nana3::nana3:.

I installed two on my truck and they worked great under 85 degrees but here in grand junction it hits over a hundred for most of the summer so it couldn't keep up but i did gain about a mile and a half per gallon!!! I think having the Tranny cooler on the radiator really hurts the electric fans i think if you added a Tranny cooler it would work fine

I don't tow heavy, but I haven't had any issues at all for the past 2 years. It gets around 100* off and on through the summer and no issues with it getting hot. I have flexalites btw

Yes sir not so much going down the interstate but if i drove on the interstate then got off and drove thru town it would i would have to turn the heater on to get it to cool off enough to get to my destination

I have two Flexilites on White Out. It's a full built engine with big twins, dual fuelers and 100 over injectors. I got rid of the funky little theromstat that just clipped into the radiator and hard wired them to run all the time. I got an in line therostat from Flexilte to install but haven't done it yet. I drove to Brainerd MN and back and it was 106 in eastern Montana without any problem. I just drove it to Edmonton, Alberta to race as well without any problem. I don't tow, not sure how well they would work towing. I think they only move about half as much air as the stock fan. I put them on for the HP advanage. Approximately 15hp gain.:thumb:

NICE! that sounds great. I do tow 2-3 times a year 26' camper through the shannondoah valley but thats all.

I don't pull heavy enough to pass judgement on their towing efficiency, but fore they have been flawless.

Iv got the dual flexlite too.. It works good.. Never had an issue with over heating.. I did it to clean the engine bay up a Lil more.. Other than it sounding like its gonna vibrate to pieces when it kicks on sometimes iv had no probs with it:thumb:
