I did a google search about this a while back. Seems like most guys saw a drop in cooling capacity when switching to electric. Mainly guys that were towing heavy, but I can't remember what the consensus was for street trucks.

Anyway...try a google search, rather than searching the forum, forum searches aren't what they used to be ha.

I've ran the flex-a-lite setup for at least 5 years and I've towed around 8k numerous times without issue. I wouldn't tow much more than that though.

I personally went with FF Dynamics rated at about 6000 CFM . I got the ones with the Shrouds. Super clean looking install and for about the same money as the Flex lite setup . Check em out I think you will like em .I believe the fans have a free replacement warranty on them as well .

I run 2 Taurus fans and I saw no decrease in cooling capacity. I pull a 40' 5th wheel with no coolant temp problems. My temps are also more consistent then they were with the stock fan.

I've had flexalites on my lbz for almost 2 years. Drive it everyday and have pulled about 14k with them. Way over the recommended limit.

If I towed everyday heavy would I run them? No. Driving empty everyday? Absolutely. No issues whatsoever

I run the Flexlite fans on one of my trucks. No issues with cooling. Temperatures are more consistent as well. I have only towed maybe 5000 lbs but had no issue with temperatures in Florida.

Also interested in doing this.

How does the flexilite controller work? Read temps from factory sensor or come with its own?

Reads from a probe in between the fins on the radiator. It is adjustable for run temps by turning a small knob on the controller. You have a signal wire for the ac as well. Easy and simple install.

Grabbed 2 Ford Taurus fans and 2 volvo fan relays from the junkyard and had a fan setup for around $80. Wired it to a manual switch but i ended up taking it back off due to other people driving it.
