ok so a manual boost gauge will work with 1/8" copper line. That will be a lot cheaper and install should be easier. Do I need to loop the cooper line to cool it down a little more? Do I need to crimp this line?

Thanks for the insight subman

I used a brake line with fittings on either end and just as Ken said and yes I would coil it to help dissipate heat...mine isn't crimped it's just screwed into an 1/8" NPT fitting which is threaded into my manifold I can put a pic up if you need

Looping is good, I've actually wapped it around a piece of 2" pvc to make a tighter coil and no don't crimp it. Brake line will work too.:thumb:

Mine isn't the prettiest but here's a couple pics..for reference my EGT probe is on the left and the DP gauge tubing is on the right

Thanks for the pics man I just ordered the boost gauge and got the copper today

I did the same thing and used 1/8" tubing. It was too small for Alaska-it freezes. I need to change it out to 3/16" or 1/4" tubing. I also did not do the coils-I didn't want a fluid trap.

Mine is tapped off the up-pipe, and ran up the firewall making sure I can drain the exhaust moisture back into the pipe.

Mine froze too. It now just runs 6" straight up off the ps manifold

The only temp is ambient from the manifold or up pipe so I don't get why people run a coil?

I use 1/4 SS. Tube then hose

Im in new orleans dont think it will freeze but I will 1/4" just in case I go to canada or ak lol so dont coil how many feet of copper should I use? Then convert to the boost line or is there another alternative for this also

Thanks guys

Coil was used only because we were not sure how much it would take to carry away the heat. And mounted so it would drain back in vertical faction like if you where holding a slinky by one end. One thing you have to be careful with regarding size is and length of tube is if the gauge is steady or jumps all over the place. I've never had it happen but have heard of many who have with too short or too large a tube.

I've had the same DP gauge and tubing in mine for probably 3 years now, never a problem. I used a +- 3' section of brake line with fittings, then a small 5" section of braided line (thanks Simon) to the gauge sending unit......never had a bouncing needle or anything else from mine, no freezing either :D
