New member here and new to the Duramax, but an old salt with diesels.
My question is about the onboard sensors for Exhaust Gas Temps. I want to monitor the EGTs before the turbo. I haven't been able to find that anywhere on this motor. There are 6 sensor points available to the ECU but it looks like the L5P only uses 5. I use a scan gauge to get this reading, but scan gauge techs can't tell me where the 5 readings they can read are coming from only that the scan gauge will read them.
There is some info on the internet as to which sensor number is which, but I don't know if that is an industry standard or if each manufacturer makes that determination.
Does anyone know the sensor numbers for "directly after the turbo" and "before the turbo" (between the exhaust manifolds and the hot side of turbo).
If you don't know, any help where to look for that info would be appreciated.
