What is the benifit of doing this? What is the cost? I have seen the egr block plates and another thing that was said to get rid of it completely. Can someone tell me what all it does.

we'll completely removing the EGR is beneficial because it allows you to lose 10lbs or so and removes TON's to clutter and frees up space to make working on the engine a little easier.

Just blocking it will suffice for you I'd say. Keeps the oily residue out of the intercooler/ tubing.

PCV Re-route will keep the oil out of your intercooler and intake.

For most people just using a PPE style blocker plate will be good enough, but some do start to leak after time at the plate also.

I took my cooler off when I did my turbo and then I ordered a EGR delete pipe from Paul, can't wait for it to come in. Really cleans up the engine bay. For you I would just block the EGR and do PCV reroute, if you plan no other engine mods.

Yes it is.

Maybe its just me put I don't really see the point of the PVC reroute. Other then the oily film maybe slowing down the air in the IC. Diesels run just fine on oil and I can't see how it would hurt the turbo like several seem to say.

It will coat the inside of the intercooler and the heat transfer sucks. An oil film covered intercooler isn't much better than a hot air setup.

So what are to gains in HP then? I haven't seen any body with a PCV reroute post any higher then normal dyno #s. Not that that doesn't make perfect scene, but your post makes it sound like there is a substantial gain to be had. I not saying everyone should leave it, but in an only moderate built truck why. Also it is well proven that negative pressure in the crankcase increases power.

Come on is that the best you can do its "gross" and "some people don't care". I'm not really sure what gross about oil being blown through the intake of a truck. Now all the cow shit I had to wash off my truck the last time I got stuck in a pasture was a little gross. I care a lot, but I'm not a band wagon guy which it what this looks like to me.

I'm not above changing my mind, because there is a lot I don't know. I see some pros and cons thats it. Nothing that backs up that a PCV reroute should be done.

Hi guys im new to this forum but its already helped alot. I want to block off my egr but cant find a plate and im not good enough to make one myself. Where can i find a plate and or the fingerstick? Is the fingerstick worth it? I have been having a terrible time with my egr it actually gets stuck open on my 07 classic.

The simple fact that rerouting your PCV keeps your engine cleaner isn't a good enough reason for you? pull off your intake tube and see how dirty it is... all that shit builds up in the heads and causes restrictions...

Don't you have a warranty still this is a widely known issue with our trucks? Kennedy diesel is the only place I know of that has both the stick and the plate.
