EFILive Tuning classes - June - Starlite Diesel

As posted on our forum http://forum.efilive.com/showthread.php?18892-New!-EFILive-Diesel-Training-Classes Zach has scheduled classes for both Texas and Iowa in June

Due to popular demand - we are back to bring you another round of EFILive Training classes covering your Duramax and Dodge trucks! Many of you have been patiently waiting for the announcement while I finished locking down the details - so thank you for the patience! These sessions will be either 1 or 2 days long (depending on you) and will include the "basics" class followed by an Advanced class on the 2nd day if you choose to attend both.

There are 2 locations for classes in June:
Amarillo, Texas (June 2nd-3rd)
Fort Dodge, Iowa (June 16-17th)

The class in Iowa is being held at Iowa Central College at the Fort Dodge campus.
The class in Texas is being held at a facility that gets us slightly outside the city limits, but with plenty of room and space for the outside dyno being brought in.

The "basics" course will cover the following, and will be a beginner - intermediate level training on diesel tuning of BOTH GM and CUMMINS - so there will be a little bit for everyone:

EFILive Basics - The software, upgrades, firmware
GM Duramax basics
Cummins basics
Dyno testing tunes created during the course on GM and Cummins trucks
Data Logging, both Cummins and GM

These courses are intended to give EFILive owners a leg-up with their own trucks and comfort level with using EFILive software.

I will be providing lunch and drinks, as well as special discounts on EFILive and other products from StarLite Diesel. The cost of the course will be $250 per person for the "Basics" course, and $300 for the advanced class if taken seperately, -OR- $500 if you register for both at the same time. Each class day is targeted to be approximately 7 hours.

There will be a course handbook provided to each person, but I am encouraging everyone with a laptop to bring it pre-loaded with the latest EFILive software. I will be emailing each person in the class a few days beforehand so they will have the chance to get this software installed.

If you have questions or suggestions, please let us know! Post em here or email us: [email protected]

If you are ready to sign up, you will be able to register here:http://www.starlitediesel.com/EFILive-Diesel-Training_c6.htm

Again, any questions please let us know!

Thanks!

still waiting for one in NJ area. ;)

Anyone got a place to have one? I'd love to get back there... about as close as i've found to you so far is Pennsylvania...

If you guys have some ideas in terms of location, let me know! Would love to get some stuff set up... I'm always open to suggestions and locations - timing, price and other things obviously have to work for me and everyone else - but PM me and we can go from there! Fall is already filling up - seems summer isn't the ideal time to do classes, but once the 'season' slows down and stops - everyone gets interested again...

So - let me know!

There are 8 spots left in Iowa class and Texas still has plenty of room...

I will be cutting off sign ups for the Texas class next Sunday because i have to make sure and have things planned.

Also - anyone that is driving to either of these classes that wants to use their truck on the dyno for demonstration / tuning purposes (provided it's a truck that can be tuned with EFILive!) - please hit me up. If you're coming to the class in either location, and want in on the dyno tuning - now is your chance. Getting the class plus tuning makes the class an even better deal - but i only need 2 trucks each day (one dodge, one GM)...

Thanks everyone that is participating and looking forward to meeting you there!

Sounds like there's alot of interest in it... Already talking to a guy from this thread about it. Sounds like he has access to at least the facility.... we shall see how it turns out! It will likely not be until Fall if we do it as i'm pretty well booked and have alot of events to attend this season (and participate in) so.....

Anyone with ideas keep them coming! Facilities, locations, etc...

If and when EFI training comes to Pennsylvania, I have a few locations that we could use to teach us. The fire company i run with has a decent sized room to use, or the local legion club has a big area to use, or we could even use my garage for that matter. Keep me in mind if you ever decide to come to Pa for a training class. :thumb:

I can get access to a classroom facility, a shop, and a mobile dynojet 248. Would be in Westfield, MA off exit 3 of I90. maybe set something up for the fall Zach? We run an event close by the 3rd weekend of September that is a grassroots truckfest...the dyno comes down for it anyways and there are truck pulls, mud bogs, etc. let me know if you might be interested.

I will keep this in mind if the other shop i'm already talking with falls through. Right now the facility i'm talking with has someone attending the Texas class to see the format, etc - and then we'll go from there with them, however - if it falls through - guess who i'm calling?? :D

Well, the 3rd weekend in September sounds like fun for sure. As for the class - you'll have to PM me more details about what you were thinking (when specfically)... i know the first or second weekend of October is taken up for stuff happening here locally (last event of our season)... Anyways - let me know what you're thinking!

what all gets covered in the advanced class?

The advanced class really just builds on the basics class, and we work on trucks that are more heaviy modified. We go over a whole lot more do's and dont's - cover trans tuning - and in general I let the participants of the class guide the discussion searching for information they came to get. The first day I very much have an agenda and things i want to cover and go over, so there is less open discussion - while the second day I have an agenda, but it is shorter and allows for alot of time to be spent asking questions or for me to just continue demonstrating and working on trucks...
