Help: EFILive Code $0537: Controller is locked with a custom key

GM could read it and see everything, but couldn't flash the original OS or latest OS into it because they get the custom lock block too...

Back to square one...

Naw, I've seen that error on my tunes before, and I never lock tunes. It's a bug in EFILive.

Hate to say it, but IIRC, I fixed it by doing a Tech II OEM flash.

You might try a handheld tuner like PPE. Install it, then uninstall, and try an EFILive flash again.

EDIT - Make sure you have ALL aftermarket electronics disconnected completely, like remotes, alarms, stereos.
 
As kory hinted, there is a fix coming out in the next software release for certain recovery processes. We cannot access if the OPs issue is related to that or not, until we receive the files that were requested a few days ago.

That's what it's looking like. Bummer, but at least it isn't a bricked ECM.

Thanks Cindy. As soon as I get the ECM back from the tuner, I will have the requested log files to you.. then maybe we can get a better understanding of what's going on.
