New to site....I have 2008 gmc 4×4 3500 HD dually
The efi was installed by a (professional) however they can not figure out why when tune is in tow and I have tow/haul selected on my shifter why does it slam into third gear. I have had them repeatedly try to fix this and and still nothing. Any help and or suggestions would be great
Thanks

Who did you purchase the Tune or tunes from? Does it slam into third gear at all throttle positions? In tow haul and out of tow haul?

Start out in tow tune...
Gradual speed leads to little hard shift
Heavy on the gas. Feels like I just lost my transmission.
And it only seems to do it in the tow tune and with tow haul on .

Funny thing is I have. And they can't seem to figure out why this is. They have made several attempts to make this right but still no luck. I'm trying to reach out to come up with any suggestions. I know not my job but oh well. Thanks anyways

I don't have a dsp switch. It's just a standard one I'm thinking. 1-5 round nob...and as far as who tuned it I'm trying to not give this guy up in fear of damaging his business. ..he has tried several times to fix this problem but is not succeeding.

So do you have an adjustable knob or not? That 1-5 round knob is a dsp5 switch.

As for the tuner. He either needs to fix the issue or refund you your money so you can pay a tuner that knows what they are doing.

I am not jumping to conclusions but, this seems like one of those times a guys friend loaded a tune into his truck for him and now it doesnt run right. And your friend doesnt know jack about tuning, just bought a tune and is now reselling it?

Post up the tuners name, you wont be damaging his business...He does have a name right?

Yes you did jump to conclusions. I'm just looking for a little help and yes if it is not fixed it will be taken out and I will go to someone who claims they can do it better.

kfdfire3, that was the wrong response on this site or any other for that matter, I read around on three other sites and this one has some of the best guys for EFI, Duramax and transmission expertise. When they ask questions they only want to help you in your situation and come to a resolve, with responses like that good luck.....for me I do a lot research and have had little if any trouble with EFI, I spent six months before I bought a used V2 and read about it on EFI's website and four diesel sites before I even considered tuning my truck.

I guess I don't understand the reason behind the name dropping. I was just trying not to do harm to someone.
Punisher diesel performance installed it on a previous truck I had. I had no issues. The same company installed it on my current 3500 dually and we can't seem to figure it out. I don't mean any disrespect to any

He said his sxan tool won't do it on the 6 speed only on 5 Speed. Said the dealer would have to do it or use a edge monitor which he also dies not have. Also said that it does relearn itself just not as quick. This has been installed in truck for several months ....must be still learning

Evi live can reset the tabs for the transmission.

Did he take the same tune from your previous truck and install it right into the new one? Or write you a new tune?

Has he data logged your truck at all?
