Prices don't seem bad but it depends on what tuning he's is putting on the trucks. Are they his or does he use someone elses tunes?

What's the name of the shop? Just curious if anyone else has run his tunes. 500 is more like what you would expect to pay for one of the top name guys to tune it.

You'll like the Insight CTS/EFI setup. I had that and loved it. Didn't need a bunch of gauges, just one screen.

He gave me a parts and labor breakdown.....

Edge cts insight: $400
egt probe:100
install:$100
EFI with cts $500

This guy is almost the closest place to me there is another and I will call them also but what do yall think of these prices?

That total is pretty close to what I paid, but I also got the dash-mount pod, and the backup camera for that price.

was it pretty easy to change the tune level on the fly? What type of tunes did you run?
You literally just hit the up button or down button and boom, you've changed your tune. Be careful though, switching tunes all the time doesn't give your tranny a chance to learn and then Kaplooie

How long between each tune so the tranny can learn? Is this true always with efi ? Will it ever just learn each tune or is each time you switch just like the first time and is the tranny always going to have to learn no matter what?

Every time you switch it will need to relearn. Most people on here will tell you that they pretty much always run the same tune. I switch down when I'm towing heavy but otherwise almost always run on the hottest tune.

well if i needed to tow i guess i could do a quick relearn and i guess with every tune level.
i was told that you dont get 5 tunes you only get one tune with 5 different levels and that the levels go up 50 hp at a time. so is it only 50 hp per tune or is each level specific for economy or fast or towing?

Ummmmm. I suppose in the sense that he only burns one file onto the ecm. But there are 5 tunes in the file. And they can be any tune you want. He must just go in 50hp intervals.

well they are well known around here locally in the south east. I would rather deal with someone who can be there with my truck to tune it. I dont want a pre tuned ecm
