EFI Live Hates Me

okay so im trying to set it up on my new laptop but cant get the USB drivers to install.

i tried awhile back with the CD and it didnt work, well now I cant find the CD so I downloaded them off of EFi Lives website but those Dont work. I unzipped the folder and tried manually installing it but nothing, then tried automatic but nothing.

Any ideas??

I had the same problem and no matter what I did it didn't fix it. So, I delted EFI and re-installed it from the CD.

did you try the usb driver cleaner to remove the usb drivers, then try to renstall the drivers

good luck I got them to load on the laptop, but not the desktop. You can try in the help at the top of EFI to set yourself as administrator for the install. I do not have it with me so thats as close as I can get you. Sorry

thanks guys, it took a few trys but I finally got it, its really touchy I guess. How I did it I dont know.

Now onto the next challenge of updating my firmware

firmware isnt an issue yet i guess. I guess I never downloaded 8.1 on this laptop so My firmware still works.

okay I quit. This stupid firmware has been messing with me since november.

I am putting the V2 into dead poll mode then running EFI Explorer as administrator.

But If I try to do anything it freezes up. I know this is common and has been talked about before. I just downloaded it from EFIs website 2 days ago so it should be recent.

I am running vista too unfortuneatly.

Look in your "Start Menu>All Programs>EFILive>V8.1 folder for a document about updating Firmware and Bootblock. It needs to be done in a specific order.

well guys I spent a lot of time on the phone with guy today and got my Firmware updated. Thanks a million for doingf that guy, you gave up an hours worth of time to help me. And I couldnt of done it without you especially since my V2 was acting up and I didnt even have the right firmware file on my computer.
