efi for 8.1??

I have a friend with a 02 8.1 gas with the Allison.
He's been asking me if efi live would add any power or go with something like bully Dog?? Thanks for any advice... and if so efi live who has got any gains out of a 8.1

I believe that you can license the 8.1 ecm with EFI. A good tuner that has lots of experience with gassers would benefit you more than a off the shelf tuner, especially if you have other mods done to truck.

For a good forum to get a good time for that 8.1 I'd go to Performancetrucks.net, that's the site that I go on as well. Verry good resources for the LS base engines.

And Yes the EFI Live would help out with power in that iron boat anchor.

Ive heard good things about efi for the gassers. Ive read a big thing is changing the torque management. Nelson or blackbear performance have always been the people ive heard of being good with tuning. Maybe contact one if them.

I didnt have my gasser longer enuf to try blackbear. What did you think of the tuning?

I was Very happy with his tunning. Two of my friemds have his tune, one has a 8.1 and the other has a 5.3 and we all have been very pleased with his tunning.

When I did my cam swap I bought a AutoCal from him and there was a problem with the AutoCal it's self and he took care of me with out question!

If I was ever to get a LSx again I would sure go to him to get my tunning again.

I recommend all my Gasser customers to Justin at Blackbeard also...very good tuning. Flaco is another good gas tuner.
