Yes I also had a heck of a time getting my drivers working. I am thinking I should delete and re install. Or is there something I am missing.

This is what Paul (Blacky) sent me when I had trouble with drivers:

How to uninstall the USB drivers if Vista fails to install them correctly.

1. Disconnect FlashScan.
2. Run the FTClean program (that removes the driver files from the hard drive).
3. Reconnect FlashScan
4. Right click on Computer in the Windows Start menu, select Properties.
5. Click on the Device manager link at the top left of the window.
6. Locate the FlashScan device - it may be under "Other Devices" or "Universal Serial Bus controllers".
7. Right click and select uninstall (that tells Vista it needs to be re-installed next time it is plugged in).
8. Disconnect FlashScan
9. Close down the Device Manager window
10. Close the Control Panel->System window.
11. Reconnect FlashScan - Vista should restart the driver install wizard from scratch.

Make sure you are using FlashScan's latest signed drivers. Available here:

Pat, why would it freeze while trying to read my pcm?? It starts repeating SAE Protocol seed not set or something along those lines. Is there something I have set wrong?

That's not likely to be driver related. Make sure Remote Starts, Advanced Stereo Systems, and Alarm Systems are disabled since they don't always "shut up" when they are told to.

Make sure your firmware version matches the software release correctly.

Never run Scan and Tune at the same time. Sometimes you need to close all apps, unplug cable from both ends, plug cable back in, then launch EFILive Tune again to clear the cable status.

Unplug the V2. Hold down the CTRL key. Plug it in. 2 lights will flash.

START>ALL PROGRAMS>EFILive 7.5>UPDATE Flashscan>STATUS

This will tell you what version of firmware is loaded in the handheld unit.

Any aftermarket stereo, remote start, Ipod adapter, alarm, any electronics at all added to the truck that didn't come from GM?
