On the MIKELB7 charts, the scary one is the WOT balance rate. 14% difference between cylinders????

To put that in perspective, you would being tuning the average of the cyls. Some cyls would be down 7%, others would over by 7%. Or with a 500 horse engine, 535hp fuel in some, and 465hp in others. The failure limit is the high cyl, so let's say you hurt the rods or pistons at 700hp in a balanced engine. You'd hit the failure point when you tuned it to 651hp.

Injector balance is perhaps the #1 concern when pushing against the limit.

 thats a little scarey

Yes it is scary, and the reason I had Volker do me a set was because he was the only one who was testing the injectors at WOT pressures, and the balance was VERY good in the danger zone.

I believe the reason we see some "underperformers" with big injectors is simply due to balance issues. The reason the 12v Dodge guys don't is because the pressures aren't as high, and the holes are much bigger.

If you miss the hole size by .0002" at .0060", it's 7% error.
If you miss the hole size by .0002" at .0120", it's 3.5% error.

The bigger the holes are, the easier they are to balance.

I can post your balance sheet if you agree ...

Funny that myself and some of the other Chamber Pressure testers have started looking at the apparent lag in injection and ignition on the pressure plots.

yes, several of them have mentioned "extrude hone" as the company in this thread and others just as the process also called "extrone honing". Its a bit confusing... IIRC, johnboy used them, Brayden uses them, and several others have with great success.

apparently only about 2000psi, which is concerning to me. anyone have more info?

There are two companies I have dealt with that I can say I was very happy with the services. Those are Extrude Hone and Dynomite Diesel Performance. Kelly I suggest you call both Jim Bower (724 978 7211) and Lenny Reed (360-794-7974). Both guys are awesome to talk to and deal with. I mainly use Jim Bower because he is very close to me. I can drive down for same day service if needed.
