I personally didn't see any difference. However I went from 55w in my stock halogens in my Cadillac, to 35w projectors so not exactly apples to apples. I think 55w just cause more glare

I just ordered two sets to mess with. I also snagged some LED high beam bulbs. Having the delay in HID heating up in high beams didn't sound like a great idea.

Let me know how bright those high beam bulbs are. Here in the next month I plan on doing some projector retrofits in my truck but am not sure on what I want to do with the high beam location yet.

I've got some eBay 55watt HIDS and haven't had any problems what so ever. Nor the other three trucks that are running them. Guess it's just a hit and miss type of deal with sellers.

You guys that are putting HID's in stock halogen housing are really wasting a lot of money and blinding people, even if you aim them way down. Then whats the point of even doing it in the first place?

Do it correctly and do a retrofit. The mini morimotos from theretrofitsource.com are very easy to retrofit and they come with a motorized cutoff shield for high beams. I've done a few sets in an hour and its way better than shitty scattered light from a halogen housing.

Don't see how it's wasting money when it is perfect beams high and lows on my truck. No blinding people here.

From your seat I'm sure your not blinding anybody, but try being on the receiving end. I have HID's in cheap projector housings and I know they aren't perfect, but at least they have a good cutoff and I know they aren't blinding people. Regular housings will glare, end of story.

No not from my seat, I've let others drive my truck and have seen them on the other side. Never had anyone flash me either.

Tons of people where I live with cheap HID kits I get blinded all the time.

What ever happened to good ole headlights that came factory, I guess my eyesight is amazing because I never even use fogs or high beams :)

Id rather be able to see a deer and get slowed down a lot quicker than having to risk hitting one. With hids there eyes light up a lot better. I've hit over 50 deer in the past, now that I've put the hids in, I can see them and get slowed down.

I'm not impressed so far. I'll know more after sunset. I plugged them in and they don't look as bright just looking at the truck.

Since the lenses aren't great it does make a big circle in the lense, but that is just how the light is focused.

Leave the cheapo ebay HID nonsense to ricer trucks that look horrible and blind everyone with glare. Argue all you want, but without a correct projector housing all you do is throw glare.

I love my retro fit kit, really a huge improvement over stock halogens and they have a crisp cutoff.
