we pull around the 4000rpm mark. . . and all i want is a stock lift cam and more duration. and a little more over lap,to maybe use the boost to help clean out the cylenders a little better. so i guess were going to be the pig and give it a try. im going to spec out a stock cam this weekend, make my changes, and go from there. :thumb:

Let us know how it works!

You guys are correct on regrind price but take into consideration you have to supply a profile or run with who ever is regrinding its profile. Some profiles are worth more $ then others and they have to match your head specs. Its not just a cam that makes you power it the whole equation.

By the way Shannon's dad passed away a little over a year ago and no longer do any engine builds. His dad has done many small block and big block ford motors for many customers and friends of ours. His dad was one of the best around. They recently sold all the equipment and laid all employees off and now it is just the son Shannon moving parts on Ebay.

I don't know if it is the same guy but there used to be a guy in my area that was really talented with high performance engines. He might have moved up a bit. He custom built me a cam for my 383 stroker at a great price. He used to have a barn that he had thousands of dollars worth of equipement in. Amazing inside and from the outside it could have had cattle in it. Made his money of volume and skill very little overhead kept his prices low.

If you call and ask for Jerry you will get Shannon.

Like I stated, Jerry was the Dad with the motor building skills and Shannon the son moved parts and did little machine work. They had a couple other guys there as well and tried to keep the show going after the passing of his dad but struggled between the economy swing and sudden lose of Jerry. One of the machinst has since started his own shop north west of the cities and all others where laid off.
All equipment is now scattered through out the midwest. Pretty much gave the equipment away. Needed the money in a hurry. Nothing left there but a computer to sell parts on Ebay. One man band. Before Jerry passed he did a couple cams for us. Since then we have moved to doing our own thing. If anybody would like to try his re grind let me know would sell with key cut into cam for $200 I have the two sitting in the engine room. Good street low boost daily driver not intended for over 3400rpm.

Keep in mind like Pat stated getting a re grind properly done is not as simple as you may think. I would put trust in only a select few.

It really was a sad loose to the Ford Gas Performance World. He definelty knew how to make them zing.
