It could have been worse. I've had a quite a few screw ups, some truck related and some due to my inexperience. As long as they aren't expensive mistakes I just try and learn from them and move on. It looks as though is would have been a nice pass.
Looked pretty damn good for swinging 4th gear with 3.42's!!! And what ^Dave said, no parts hurt just pride... Trying hauling a truck 4 hours to a pull and hooking to a sled on Friday and having a fuel temp sensor limit the truck to 70 MPA fuel rail pressure and dropping commanded rail to 10,500 psi and falling under turbo, spending money on a motel room to try it again Saturday and forgetting to turn on the hydraulic pump for steering and driving out of bounds into an Enderle sign....
If it was easy everybody would be doing it. Looks pretty damn good though for 4th gear with those gears. When's the next hook?
I expected there was going to be some bugs to work out of the truck after so many things had changed and also having to relearn to drive it. I probably will not be hooking again for a couple weeks.
I noticed after my last hook that #5 cylinder injector balance rate was +15, so thought either the injector went south or there was something wrong with that cylinder. Well, did a compression test yesterday and cylinder #5 only has 100psi of compression. I will be pulling the head today to inspect what's happened. If its something major, I'm probably done!!! Not sure I want to stick anymore money in it at this point.
Head looked good, besides the valves leaking. They did a valve job on it and skimmed the surface.
Valves were bad enough to loose all compression?
