That is a nice piece from bullseye and will work for the DIY guy but I will tell you if you are trying to get it done in a weekend like 90% of the diesel hotrodders want, having everything you need right there and not having to hunt and hope things will fit right is worth the extra money. I love my PPE kit but I wonder if the cast will hold the heat better and have better spooling characteristics?

Cast iron uses more heat energy to heat up then stainless. It will take more heat and time to spool with cast iron. On top of that the heavy wall tubing we use heats and cools very quick.

I will second that one, your ped's are very nicely constructed and work great!

Hands down the PPE pedastal is by far better quality and workmanship. You get what you pay for.

We have seen in some cases castings crack due to heat cycle. Just food for thought.

X2, people think that castings are the answer to cracking. Well in reality castings are just as prone to cracking....actually they are more prone to cracking when compared to a well designed and fabricated hand built part:D And cracks on cast are far more dificult to fix correctly
