Duramax LML DEF issue and Deletes Wanted

Hi Every one! I'm new here
My Truck: 2013 GMC Duramax LML, around 90.000Km have check engine light, scanned DEF Heater is the culprit, now as per my GM Dealer she is out of warranty, i will have to pay for all repair cost and truck must stay at Service Bay 3 or more days - (not acceptable, its my work truck)

OK: I found a guy, who can Delete DPF and put a pipe, delete EGR, delete DEF functions from engine computer and re-program with 3 Tunes for $1300.00

It little pricey for me, however, is that a good deal?
Or should i buy EFI Live and email delete/tune the Truck my self?

what else / issues i should watch out for, when they do all that ?


I live in Ontario, Canada.

Emissions equipment is covered under a government mandated warranty that far exceeds the factory warranty.

I can't remember the exact terms but I'm pretty sure it's something like 7 years and maybe 200k miles or something like that.

^^^^Exactly what he said. But if you're looking to delete anyway... $1300 seems pretty high. But up here I see people getting away with it. It boggles my mind. If I was in your situation, I'd buy a V2 and have tunes emailed to you via a reputable tuner here.

1300$ for DEF delete, (DPF replacement shorter pipe) , EGR delete (install that blocking plate) then tune.

so yes Just a delete pipe and tunes

All figures in US dollars and ballpark from last time I noticed the prices

If you have about a hour a ratchet strap and an open end wrench you can do the egr delete yourself. A shop should only charge around $200 to install an exhaust and takes about thirty minutes sitting in the seat of your truck to install efi live.

Edit: ratchet strap and wrench worked on my LLY idk about them newer trucks I haven't seen the EGR setup.

I got a full 5" flo pro and auto cal with delete tunes for under 1300$ from a vender here. Im told that a blocker plate isn't needed on stockish lml's due to a stronger valve (someone might verify that?).

Edit: just realized your in canada, maybe shipping is a big factor?

I haven't really looked at the LML's but was going off what my LLY was didn't know there was a huge difference till now.

I just did a full egr delete, went 90000 miles with just delete tuning and my intake and heads were still clean so don't think full egr delete necessary on lml

HWY Millage was 16/100L now 11/100L cool
City stop and Go 13.5/100L

i feel, little bit lag at stop light then go, but once going everything is good, may be i must buy EFI live V2 and tune a bit

now you pros guide to buy V2 and some good tunes please

Having trouble understanding this but if you're asking where to get good efi live tunes we have site sponsors that are the tits and you can find them at the bottom of the forum page. Atp trucks, ppei, creatures of the night ect

You deleted without tuning it? I bet you have one pissed off truck. Eventually you will be in limp mode.

$1300 for everything installed isn't that high but it's not cheap.

No, we deleted everything and he put some HP tunes, everything is running OK so far.

but I want to tune with EFI live, cause I heard good thing about it and trucks runs very good

EFI Live is only as good as the person who writes the tune.
