The higher HPs can be attained with some of the better EFI Live tunes but at some point you will have to start thinking about making the transmission stronger, as well as engine internals. The LLY motors tend to have head gasket failures when pushed to higher HP limits. Do you have strict emissions controls in Norway? There are still many places in the US that don't test for that, so we can remove catalytic converters and EGR systems to increase power. There are a number of excellent tuners on this forum that can assist you and programming can be accomplished via email.

As you can se here: My plan is to add a PPE stage 6 trans, 5" exhaust, Fuelab lift pump, PPE GT42r kit, PPE dual fueler, Bulletproof stering, Cognito upper control arms, Pitman and idler braces, Fleece tapshifter, Catltracs and EFI live(I plan on contacting McRat when i get EFI, seems like he really knows what he is doing with the LLY) :thumb:.

Will it work with these upgrades?

We have emissions control here, but I think I can avoid that. There is a exhaust workshop in my area who can install a custom exhaust system on the car, I can ask them to make a straight pipe with clamps that can replace the catalyctic converter after the emission control :)

BTW, this is really great.. I recon I may need quite a bit of help with the tuning!
Welcome, I have quite a bit of Norwegian in the blood line myself.

Thanks for the welcome :) I realize many norwegians migrated to the U.S some time ago, cool that so many on this forum knows about or have relations to Norway :D

Welcome to the forum.

I've been watching a good showing by Norwegian athletes in the Olympics, especially the ski disciplines.

Much appreciated :)

Norwegians are actually pretty good in wintersports, in Norway we have a saying: "Norwegians are born with skis on their feet".

Sounds like a plan, I would do everything you have on your list but leave the dualfueler kit off. You'll be over 600 hp without it.

I think he will need more fuel over stock,I believe he will be maxing everything out to reach 600 if he can get there on stock fuel and injectors.

Welcome to DD very nice to have you here and to help you with any info we can.:hello:

Born and raised in the densest areas they migrated to as well Uhero. Minnesota yaw :thumb:

Riiight! I have learned that Minnesota is the state with most norwegian descendants in th U.S :)

How is it there, and how have we developed over there? :thinking2:

I will modify the truck with everything on the list. I'll take it step by step since I work rotation :)

When I'll get to the dualfueler kit I surely need advise, to me it seems the more moving parts the more can go wrong..

As I have mentioned above I need advise when i get that far :) How much are the stock injectors capable of?

Thank you so much, the welcome you guys have given me is over all expectation! Believe me when I say it is much appreciated!!

I think you can make 600 ish maybe a little more, depending on how well the CP3 fuel pump keeps up.

Something to keep in mind is at that power level your rods are on borrowed time. Meaning that they could bend or break at any moment. Some live a long time there some don't. Tuning has alot to do with it.

You are in the right place to learn about this truck. Just ask.

What your saying is true, and I'm not trying to insult your intelligence, I know you know what your talking about, Dual fuellers just seem like a bad idea on a stock bottom end truck. My truck is completely stock fuel system and I feel I'm flirting with disaster.

Is that on the crank or on the wheels? I've seen that you can buy "modded" CP3 pumps from industrial injection? Any experience?

I have checked out the Carillo forged rods and some pistons, bet that would be a good investment. Only thing that bugs me is that it is a pretty complicated job to remove the engine to build it! Or?

As said before, think I'll get someone to tune it with EFI, won't play with that myself :D

And thank you so much for the good welcome, for me who lives in a country with very limited knowledge about these trucks it is a great relief to have people on the other side of the earth who are more than willing to help!:thumb:

At the wheels.

I modified my own cp3. Most on here are against the stroker cp3 because they don't seem to last very long... The only stroker cp3 that I haven't heard any thing bad about has been the Exergy one...I will go to modified stockers when/if the bottom end gets built.

Start saving for more go fast parts because it's addicting.

I understand. Would't use money on that if it breaks easily, my truck is a daily driver..

Can truly understand that it is addicting, have read some on the forum and I must agree that performance parts to the dmax is way too expensive. At least some of them!

Damn, that finnish duramax is fast! Maybe there is a little group of people over here who modifies these trucks? Should try to find them.. :)
