Funny this thread popped up...I almost just recently traded my LLY for a C7.

Still thinking about it but losing the utility would be a real bummer

TX of course
Maybe sell the project truck and put the money into bbt to fix it.

I’m sure there are southern cabs available somewhere.

It’s getting pretty hard to find any in good shape down here it seems. Especially in that color.

We fired this puppy up tonight on headers only. Runs good but kept going into power reduction mode after a few minutes.
MAF was reading ok but kept setting a circuit code. The engine harness is for a 5 wire MAF from 2002 and ECM is outa 99 which had a 3 wire. Anyone know differences here?

I wouldve thought you would upgrade all the harness and ECM to 2002 spec. Could it be due to a change in electronic system similar to the trucks between 2002 and 2003?

Unfortunately I dont know a whole lot about these cars architecture other than GM made a lot of changes from first to last run in the C5.

Found something: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/c5-tech/2077532-5-wire-maf-iat-wires.html

If I recall, the difference is the 5 wire is actually a MAF + IAT in one sensor, where the old 3 wire is just a MAF, with a separate IAT sensor. The car may not have used an IAT, so you might have to add the 2 pins to the harness and stick an IAT sensor in the intake somewhere.

Thanks guys. It has an IAT somewhere cause it's accurate in the data logs. But I agree that is typically the two other wires. Guess we're gonna need to compare ecm side pinout.

Reason for mismatch is engine harness outa an 02 automatic that drug the ECM down the road last seconds of its life. This new ECM, long block, and std trans outa a 99. Engine has bunch of mods so we fired up on the matching ecm thinking it would be happier.

After changing VIN and dicking around with vats relearn, I just burned a V2 license and wrote it out to get it fired up. That's when my buddy told me about different service# on ecms.

Funally got it to idle correctly. Last tuner disabled the maf and had error rate set at 1hz. So with maf plugged in, it set a P0103 soon as ya fired up. And with that DTC set, it forces into open loop. Runs much better with MAF and O2s working. Time for test drive when it quits raining.

Also need an 01 C5 Manual transmission OS if anyone has one handy. Seems we need to match OS pinout on a couple stability control sensors to clear an airbag light. Pins are different 99-01.

Thanks much. I'll give that one a try and see if clears the airbag code.

Soon as we get everything else onboard happy, gonna switch up to the 04 Tahoe blue/green ecm and toss a flex fuel sensor in that braided line off the firewall. Make her an alky drinker. But I hear that takes a little cax file work to make the TCS happy with that newer OS.

Ive got the car stored in a coworker's polebarn, and he's been teasing me about "having withdrawals yet?" So the other day, I get a couple "cheesecake" texts from him of the car. I had to laugh....
