Starting in 2006 the oil pumps had a reverse thread shaft. The nut is NOT knurled though; that was something Eric thought of.

06 Ben i thought it was just early Lb7s? Your probably right:)

I know that I didnt want a old style because of that and that is one of the reasons I bought the DPR pump......Figured why replace with stock.

Im thinking 4,000 rpms will be enough for me. Im will probly have about 13k tied up in it when i get done. Travis i talked to guy about it and he said if i have really good valves springs then i dont need pushrods not unless i want to get a set just as a insurance policy.

The 01 and 02 is right hand thread, And the mellings oil pump that was used on the 01 motor we built for a friend was right hand thread, We used loctite on it was ok,The pump in weather 35 to 60 deg made 85 psi at idle, He was in a area that it was 5 deg and did not allow for a longer warm up and drove with high oil pressure and it spun the gear on the pumps shaft, We end up getting a new Gm pump there all left handed thread now and we had the shaft and gear keyed. Also the Gm pump is only 65 psi on start up and 40 warm.

The motor we built the guy wanted to reuse his stock push rods stock valve springs,Mind he did blow this motor up and had alot of miles on the parts, When we set the rocker shaft on and we had a tip snap off as soon as we start adjusting the valves,Then 1,500 miles on the motor had another. We just replaced them with Socals push rods when we fix the oil pump.
