I am in the planning/saving money stage to do a DD/weekend warrior engine build. I am shooting to be in the 700 to 800 hp range. Now i know about the must have parts and the optional parts. My question is what about the parts you dont hear alot about:lifters, push rods, oil pump, etc can i reuse them or buy new oem or aftermarket?

must have :
rods.
duelfuelers
turbo(s)
lb7 pistons will live at this level

good to have:
keyed crank/cam
head studs
main studs
cut/coated LB7 pistons

option:
ported heads
afrter mark cam
fordge pistns

cam vlv train is pretty solid up to 4500-5,000.. nothing wronng with over building either.

I disagree with you Adam.

If you have the motor out of the truck you would be a moron to put it back together WITHOUT keying the cam and crank. Keying the cam and crank is a MUST.

Dual fuelers a must have??? what????? We are talking about basic stuff to allow the motor to live safely. This has nothing to do with dual fuelers.

I realize that. The way he posted the question, I thought he was looking for answers on "what to do to be safe", not "what to do to make this much performance"
