Hey,
I'm just in the process of sourcing parts to complete my duramax conversion. I am just not sure whether to go for the zf6 or the Allison. I am a huge fan of manuals so the zf6 is favourable at this point in time.

I have been trying to find some comparisons between the zf6 and the Allison in terms of weight and physical size. I have not had much luck with finding any comparisons and was wondering if anyone here could give me a bit of an idea between the differences between size and weight of the two options.

Size is a large constraint for my conversion and I believe the Allison would be pushing it a little for space.

Thanks

I got the Allison in the Patrol, not sure what your reasons for wanting a manual are?.
I was a manual person especially for towing, but with the correct engine tune the Auto is just as good if not some what better in my opinion.

I have always been an engine breaking person when towing, I have one of the Tunes set as an engine breaking tune, were it shuts of the vanes on the turbo and trust me this is outstanding. I also have the tow haul mode available in any tune which down changes the auto when slowing.

just my 2 cents worth :thumb:
