I was going to do a swap for a customer in Ohio. It fell through but in doing the research it seemed an 05-07 Avalanche was the best candidate especially one with a 6.0l. I found a 07 donor dmax in Ohio for him but he just never got back to me. Looks great, good job hope you get it dialed in. Question though, why HP over EFILive?

The avalanche never came with the 6.0.......

And FWIW, the 05-06 and 07 avalanches are completely different trucks.

In some years after 07 design, the 6.0 is an option. Also 6.2 was available in Canada for some years

ah ha! Yep...I was wrong, foot in mouth. Ive never seen one personally, apparently they are quite rare. I guess it was only offered for 2 or 3 years, from 08-09? The GMT-800 avalanche NEVER had it, and it was discontinued in late 2009.

6.2 seems even rarer...from what I can find, they only offered it for 2 months of the 2010 model year, and only in canada. Special order.

Nobody said you couldnt...where did anyone say that the 8.1 wasnt an option?

Only in 2002-2006 though, and only on the 2500 avalanche's. It was standard equipment on the 02-06 2500 Avalanche's.

Finally found time to get both heads off. The front of the right head gasket looks suspect. Didn't find the smoking gun I was looking for. Everything looks good, heads don't apper warped. Time to order new gaskets n bolts. Not getting studs now, if I ever plan on horse powering up I'll switch em out.

That's not me in the pic. It was Carlson Gracie Jr when he was last at my wifes studio. My daughter is 2nd deg black belt in Tang soo doo. Going for second in jujitsu and does a mixed art. She is also a jr instructor.....

Past the test drive Didn't blow any coolent out so now I can put the hood and front end on.

took the beast out on the road some. also got some wiring done. full time drl's and all 4 on high. got the rear bumper lifted 2 inches and tried to get the second fuel tank to pump but no luck. guess that needs work

was driving it a bit and she started some surging crap first she would sputter at 65mph then stall at 2000rpm. once warmed up noticed temp drop/ t stat open? then no more running good. changed fuel filter already.

also some idol surging thinking of shimming the fuel rail pressure valve. checking all the wiring and connections. replacing the egr rebleed the cooling sys

then replace the pressure reg, then maybe a lift pump.... anyone have a used one?

I got the hi/low/fog light all on, when on high. Did you say you always got the day time running lights tied into coming on with the headlights?

Yes, the drl's stay on with the headlights. I have amber lights instead of white ones on the avalanche I like the look

On my blue avalanche the drl's wigwag with the turn sig, just haven't taken the time to wire in relays
