No, it doesnt magically get taller. LOL

IIRC the LB7 I/C can be made to fit inside the half ton support. I think there was trimming involved, though...so be warned. You dont have any yards nearby to find an HD core support?

I probably do have a couple around, just have to call and I'm not in a hurry yet. Just piecing together.

Thanks for the Info. I really need to read over on dp but I get lost in all the bs..

Still trying to get a plan of action together.. Trying to decide what to do on the trans. I know it needs a refresh and more than likely c1& c3 at minimum (came out of a truck with tunes and coupe be limped) thinking new clutches where they are needed and then just a goerun converter, converter flow mod, mikes springs and maybe a trans go since I'll be right there. I've decided stock turbo stock fuel minus lift pump. Not going to tune it hot, probably just about the same as a tow tune on a truck. Like 50-75hp..

If anyone with more allison mod knowledge reads this any input would be much appreciated.. I've installed a few trans kts and have all the tools. I'm just unsure what to do to only halfway modify one.

I installed a goerun "G" in an Lmm with a 68r and that thing locks like budder.. That's the converter I'm leaning tword.

Whats the price difference in just going a full build?

Good question.. I'll probably have half the price of a build kit in doing it that way, depending on what I need once I get inside. Might be better off just to get a kit and be done even though it'll never be used to its potential.

Put some new shoes on the tahoe yesterday. I'll be into them for nothing once I sell the old ones off of it. Still collecting parts and trying to get a game plan together on it. Hoping to order a 2" rear drop this week and rear helper bags. Works been crazy so I havt got to check out my donor motor yet

Boy, if GM had only made a 2dr version of the 99-06 Tahoe....

They did, sort of. GM made a handfull of them for the Mexican market where 2door SUV's are very popular. But they were all scrapped in 04.

How much work would it be to just swap body's on to a CCSB frame? I am going to guess all the mounts are different, but would that be more feasible? Does anyone here know the wheel base of the suburbans?

Where in MO are you? I think I've got a couple of HD core supports chilling out behind my garage.

West plains. 100 south east of springfield on 63.. I'm around Kansas city every now and then and not scared of a road trip for parts.

Picked up a cooling stack from a memeber here.. Looks like core support and push button r case are all that's left on the donor parts list..

Well just did compression test on the driver side of my donor motor.. Nothing above 200 so I'm not even going to do the passenger side. Looks like the project just got more expensive
