So FWIW I'm still unable to shit or get off the pot, LOL. I promised myself I'd wait until the '24 is out to decide between a new diesel, 6.6 gas, or an LB7. In the past 2 months, I've swung back and forth on each path. I've been getting by with riding my motorcycle more and taking the 64 Corvair to get my daughter around and go shopping etc. I have also borrowed my wife's '19 Traverse here and there, as well as others I can borrow now and then. I hate borrowing a car - even if it is my wife's... even if I paid for it, LOL.

Fearing the hassles of the new diesel emissions, I was pretty decided on a 2024 6.6 gas and then I had to borrow a 2017 E350 with a V10 to pull my little enclosed motorcycle trailer. I thought that it would be a good thing to feel what it would be like to drive a "big" gasser after so many years away from one - OMFG what a gutless pig!!!!!!! That made me afraid that I cannot go back to a gas truck, and I did a lot of searching for an LB7 that checked all my boxes - I found exactly ONE, and someone had dibs ahead of me. He looked at it that day and bought it. Worst part is that although it was a super example, it was truly $5K (at least) overvalued. Along the way I found a beautiful one-owner ZF6 - but after an injury and surgery I know I can't go back to driving sticks for a daily driver; damn. Unless I just in love with it and say the hell with the '24 idea, LOL.

Anyway, nothing new to report other than time and frustration putting a beat down on me, lol.

I saw his post and he doesn't want one that the owner thinks is the holy grail, so I didn't mention it. This is firmly in that category. LOL

I mean, if it’s clean, decent miles and well cared for along with no rust, it might be worth it. You’d know more than me at the moment though

It's the neighbor to the guy that bought my truck. He texted me details. Lemme look for exact info:

Orig owner. 2004 LB7. 93k miles and bone stock. Leather swapped interior. Blue. Crew Cab. South Bend Clutch. No rust. Injectors replaced at 85k with Bosch. $22,500.

I'll get you a phone number. I haven't seen it in person.

Those Triton V10s are gutless pigs! According to Google, the one in that van is rated at 305 HP and 420 lb-ft torque. That's a far cry from the 6.6 Vortec which is rated at 401 HP and 464 lb-ft of torque. I have an uncle recently swapped from a 2018 L5P to a 2022 with the 6.6 Vortec, and he says he is happy with the change. A gas truck is far different from a diesel, but with the way things are right now, I would have a hard time buying a new diesel unless I was hauling at the max weight ratings all the time.

Oh man, I thought it would have had a little more oomph than that, lol. Ok. This is why I'm not letting myself go wild until I can drive a 2024 :)

oh, and James - he didn't give me the number yet because it may have been sold. He's going to check, but someone was coming to buy already.

I agree. I quit buying diesels and started buying gas trucks for work trucks back in '13/'14. My 6.0 GMs and 6.2 Fords pull 9,000lbs just fine. We still run diesels for our trucks dedicated to towing.

Yep. It’s gone. Sorry. The guy that bought my truck (Adam) called me a few mins ago to tell me.

Adam also told me that he was driving a friend home that just sold his lly (12mm stroker, 68mm Danville, trans, and nothing else - and blown head gaskets!) for $53k! Jaw drop.
