I don't do ducks to much work(clean up). When I can walk out into field and shoot pheasant and quail all day and just have to clean them.
U guys don't see 120-130s even? We need to get u guys hooked up I guess. Its not easy but with the right set up it can be productive. I try and stick with a 145-150 min. That's my rules. When I take friends out, my rule is if u would mount it, game on. Took a buddy out last week, never shot a buck above 120s. I had him sittin with me in a big box stand, a buck I have many pics of( about 50) this year alone came out bumpin a doe. It was at 80yds. Its was 18-19 wide, 10in tines, 9pt. Nice buck. Woulda been 140s prolly. I passed him 3 times bow hunting. Anyways, gave him green light and he passed. Saw him 3 times that day. Nothin bigger. Anyways we hunted 2 more days. Never saw a buck close to that. We was kinda kickin himself. That's hunting tho. He said no way was I shootin that when u have what u have running around here. Lol. Gotta get lucky and see them tho.
You boys up north are lucky. Big bucks are common. Not necessarily so in other parts of the country. I hunt in WV, KY, and OH. There are some really good bucks in Ohio, but ones in WV are a little smaller on average. I have never killed anything in the 120s or 130s, although I have seen plenty, especially in OH. I can't wait to get back and hopefully get to hunt more in 2012. Being in the Army it is tough because I move every couple of years. Very tough to establish any type of landowner/hunter relationships that way. I have always wanted to go hunting up north. Maybe one of these days I will get the chance. I would also like to hit Milk River and maybe Canada one of these days.

Amen on the milk river or canada. Big bucks are around here but its not easy. And prolly the same as ohio. But with the right land, or person settin the land up with plots and management, it raises the odds by far.
We have a lot of basket racks in the marsh areas but in northern la there are some huge deer on the mississippi river. Just dont have any land out that way.
I've seen anything of that caliber down here man. The biggest I've seen in the woods was a 6pt and he was not at all impressive.

Im sure there are a few big dear down here they just are not as prevalent. They also dont have the same food and genes as you guys do.
you're right. They're here, just few and far btwn. Gotta go waaaaaaaayyyyy off the beaten path in the swamp to get a big'un.
