I have seen most people are using the PPE kit but was wondering what the differences are is there an advantage to it or is it just personal preferance

Ats is a bad word around here, however I roll on a tight budget if I got one on the cheap Id give her the krylon overhaul and call it my own:D I would think that they would turn the same rpm as the factory pump though... Doesn't make sense to turn one slower than the other. Am I way off here?

Albert there are a few posts on this subject and the idea is that if you spin higher RPM the PPE would be better.....The idea is there.but ive never seen proof.

Alot of people like the braided lines on the ATS but personally I dont like the lines they use JMHO. On that point i dont use the lines supplied with the PPE kit,but would use them over the ATS lines.

Also with the ATS you dont have to get pink or purple you can go with manly black:D

I had the ats kit. Was a good kit but i would not use their hoses again. Them steel braided lines destroy anything they touch. One of mine was touching on the AC hose and rubbed a hole in it in no time.

run clear electrical heat shrink over the line to avoid that:)

or just wire loom.

problom that most dont realize is that most braided has a smaller ID than just regular fuel line. A 3/8" is actually just over 1/4" ID If the end is crimped on its useally teflon inside, If its screw on its a normal rubber hose. ( useally )

Having a ppe on one truck and ats on one, i prefer the ppe, my ats has never made good pressure, why i dont know, my ppe will max out the rail sensor and keep it there, ive seen my ats draw down to 23k with stock injectors, acts excatly the same with 60% injectors though, im guessing the gay regulator block they use is leakin through, thats the only idea i got! FWIW the ats kit installes easier IMO but i wont buy anouther, its either II or PPE for me!

I run an ats cause Kyle Micheals sold it to me for half the price of a PPE 4 years ago. I dont run any of their lines anymore, but mine holds pressure excellent for running 150% overs. I also dont run the belt how either of the kits reccomend. I like my ats pulley a lot better than ppe, but that was before they were any color. Either one will hold pressure for you as long as you have good cp3s. When you get to a certain hp level, you will have to look at modded cp3s with either kit. I doubt you will be unhappy with either kit.

i have a ppe kit on mine and i think if i did it over again i would go ats. ppe in my opinion is junk. they dont line up worth a crap( about like their pedestals) and after you junk the first belt and call them they tell you to space it out with a washer so its straight. space it out and then it throws another belt going down the dragstrip at 100mph+ and beats the hell out of the bottom of a 700 dollar hood.

PPE routes the belt over the oil filler, ATS does not. For most of us that are not trying to break 1000hp, I think that is the only difference that would concern you lol. Like Pat said, 2 pumps rock, either or, you will have plenty of fuel.

yeah I'm not looking for 1000hp by any means I'm shooting for the 700+ mark...I have put alot of though into a wicked diesel pump but pretty much decided to go with duals so I can expand later on I already have a small build planned for next winter prolly just rods and pistons maby some mild head pieces..I already have a little more tweaked tranny coming with a converter to better suit me and havent decided if im gonna twin with an s480 or swap out for a custom 2.6 but one of the two will be ordered next week or two

I have had alot of belt issues out of my PPE. Nothing lined up and I also had to shim the pump forward (which they dont tell you anything about in the instructions, you just get to burn up a 60.00 belt and get stranded on the side of the road until they will give you that info). All the PPE kits I have installed have had install problems. For the cost of these kits there should be no reason to have to use use big prybars and hammers to be able to get bolts started.

I have never run an ATS kit or even seen one in person but I have a feeling they are not much better. If I had to do it again, I dont know which way I would go.
