ok, i have a friend that already has efi live. we both have LB7's. He said i can use his vin if i pay him for it. We both want to get setup with the Dsp5 switch and run the same tunes. All the tunes are there, we just need the switch. Also, i have no idea how the dsp swithes work so how dowe make it work?? What do we need to do?? Thanks guys!

you will both need dsp5 switches (about $40 each) and each of you will use a license that came with his EFI, two generally come with it, the cost about $99 if you need an extra. The instructions for dsp5 tunes and how to set them up are in the help tab of any efi tune that you open, the wiring instructions for the switch are also there. Open a tune, then help tab, tutorials and then dsp upgrade for instructions.

create a strong single tune for each individual truck based off your specific operating systems then copy and past the dsp tunes into each switch position.

we already have the strong tune. so i can just copy the tables from the tune that matches his OS and alter a stock one of mine to the same parameters for my OS? then we just copy and paste? because i had some people tell me a tuner needs to transfer them and all that chit......and it confused the crap outta me. so i just need to buy a switch and go from there?

and it wont use a vin to pull my stock tune will it?

No it won't, just to load a tune it will.

What you want to do it to take the strongest tune and save it as "DSP Tune" or whatever you want.

That will be your base tune. Then, you will apply the "DSP Patch" on the Tune that you just created and saved as DSP Tune.

Get your switch installed, and we'll go from there. :thumb:

i will keep in touch with you. i still need to order the switch i just wanted to make sure i wasnt going to be getting myself in too deep and end up wasting 50 bucks on the switch. i have been getting mixed replys. some say it is simple and some say it is really hard. i talked to a few efi vendors on duramaxforum and they said it was not simple. so idk. i dont have very much money to spend. so what do you say it would cost to get it all setup? just the price of the switch?

The hardest part is installing the switch. The rest is all done with the computer. I wouldn't say it's to hard to install it, just take your time and be careful!

You'll have to copy your tables from your other tunes to the corresponding tunes in the Custom calibrations menu on the base tune. You have to do it table by table.

the dsp #1-4 are all the same thing. all the parameters are the same. is it supposed to be like that? and the parameters for our base tune in the dsp dont match what the parameters look like on the non dsp tune. (same tune) whats up with that? normal?
