Is it possible for some of the tunes to disappear? I had a local guy here tune my truck a couple years ago. About 6 months after that something happened to it. There used to be a very noticeable difference between each position. (1 stock -5 smoke) It seemed to have first happened when I was passing someone (not more that 1/2-3/4 throttle) and it limped.
Ever since it hasn't been right. Now switch position 1 and 2 are the same 3 is different and 4 and 5 are the same. I am pretty sure that 1 and 2 are what used to be 1. 3 I think used to be 2 and 4 and 5 are what used to be 5.

Setting 3 is too weak to use so I have been leaving it on 4 where I always had it before and trying to control the smoke with the pedal. It is also starting to limp the trans fairly easily which I am hoping is the tune but since it is getting worse I wouldn't bet on it. (I had a Suncoast stage IV put in at the time it was originally EFI Live flashed)

I took it back to the guy that flashed it and he re-flashed it but it made no difference. (he changed the tire size at that time and that did change) I checked the voltage with a DMM and all 5 voltages are what they should be.

I have been just trying to ignore it and live with it but I am getting tired of it and want it fixed. Is the ECM possible bad?
I am thinking about buying EFI Live but not sure yet if I want to do that.

Any ideas?

Did you have him log it to verify the tunes are switching in the ECM?

Have him check the voltages on the switch with the EFILive scan program.

Just have him select the DSP5 voltage PID for your LB7 from the list and log it. I'd have him check that first to make sure the switch didn't go bad and the voltages for each position are correct. (Probably didn't go bad IMO)

I'd start there, you limping the trans makes it sound like a transmission problem like stated above.

edit, I can't read apparently lol. I'd still check to makes sure the ecu is actually changing tunes though.
