Looks like he already offers soft tuning and switch already.

Because SOTF is nothing more than an electronic throttle stop that taps into a sensor circuit that he can use as a fuel limiter based on voltage. It is nothing at all like DSP5 from EFI Live where there are actually separate tables for all of the key things in the tuning to completely change how the truck runs at any and all throttle positions. Hell, if you know what the limiting table in the stock tune looks like for the sensor you at tapping into you can set up a switch with resistors to hit voltage set points and limit fuel to what you want, even on a stock tune.

Isn’t the lml sotf done a similar way and not a true dsp5 like the older trucks?

Yes. That's why I don't push switches on an LML. I actually don't push switches on anything. I prefer single tunes.

I’m the same way. Everyone wants a DSP5. Do people just drive WOT everywhere? Use your foot for how much power you want.

On my LB7 I had the DSP5, only because it was my first Duramax to tune. All the tunes where the same PW and throttle tables. I used it to test various timing, fuel pressure etc.

With my LMM I stuck to just a single tune. And like above, I switch tunes with my foot. It does take longer to test changes, I have about a hundred saved versions so far, but I like not having any obvious switches or tuning done.

the ONLY time i could see a switch is a DSP2 for turbo brake or not for towing. Otherwise a single tune can do it all when you put the time in and to build it right. You definitely start to see why the maps GM built for a stock truck look the way they do :roflmao:

I don’t even need it for the turbo brake, I just don’t let it come on till 2200rpm I’ll let the truck down shift before it comes on.

Everyday driving I’m in the big tune, to not piss the trans off to much.

No really. That's where throttle comes into play. It's not a light switch. Only thing Iike my dsp5 for is index classes.

My truck only runs 12’s so I wouldn’t know about having to much power. Are you really comparing your stripped down single cab to a ccsb street truck?

No problems here with a 1000hp daily driver, learn to use your right foot

Mine only runs 9s. Stripped down race truck? What are you smoking? Still has a full box with line x and tailgate. Weighs 6000 pounds. Now instead of being a douche maybe learn something. When we have traction issues we leave at less rpms and roll into the throttle sooner. With doing 1.47 60ft with a 6000 pound truck at a crappy track i think we are on to something.

I can see the argument for a DSP at the track to just automate that process. Nothing wrong with wanting to make the computer do the work for you, IMO.

That said, I'm a big fan of the "one tune to rule them all" for street use. I haven't used my DSP2 switch in 8 years. Not even sure I have a DSP2 OS loaded.

I like the dsp due to the fast weather changes up here and the fact that I’m always towing heavy or cruising daily so it’s easier to just switch.

If I lived somewhere where the climate didn’t change from 90 degrees and sunny to 20 degrees and snowing in just a 3 hr drive as it sometimes can here I could probably get away with one tune for summer and one for winter. You lower lower 48 guys got it good in that dept lol.
