Ok I will do that. Is there a certain size shim I need to get?

the goal is to make the pinion angle match your transfercase output angle. if there is more than a few degreees of difference, you will get a vib that feels like axle wrap depending on how bad the angle is. Put an angle finder on the output of the T-case and find out what degree its at, then do the same on the pinion of the rear axle. if there is a difference, that difference in degrees is what you need in shims. So say your rear pinion is at 8* and the output of the t-case is at 4*, you need a 4* shim to either roll the pinon up or down to match the t-case 4*

I actually just took a guess at it James and it worked out the first time.

Ne max. I have 3" shackles and the over load removed. 4* shims worked perfect

Mines a 2wd with the stupid carrier bearing. I bet that is my issue. Just eye balling the axle looks like its facing to far down. What do you guys use for shims?

Lol well that worked out! Its just gotta be close. If your off by a degree or two, its unlikely you will notice a vib

Chris Alston's shop might have ideas to help you if you call or web their site first it's a popular suspension maker for racers etc. Detroit Speed might be another.

Ok I got my shims and trying to install them. They are 4 degree pro comp shims. Question is do these go inside the leaf spring pack? I cant put them on the bottom in between the axle and the springs cause A) the alignment pin is not long enough to go threw shim and into axle. B) The hole in the shim is bigger then the head of the alignment bolt. Any pointers? Also the thick part goes to the rear correct?

in my samurai, i went to ace hardware and grab some longer grade 12 allen head bolts, then took a nut that would just fit in the inside of the shim hole and drilled the threads out so it acted as a "spacer" between the leafs and the allen head. that way the head of the allen fit in the locating hole on the axle pad, held the shim in place and still held all my leaves together.
