Driveshafts

I tried my local shop. They didn't seem up to the task. I want one that I will not have to worry abt. He said with the power and tq it would make he didn't want to touch it.

I'm having mine built by a local shop. I did find a company online that does them but I figured someone local would be easier.

You get what you pay for. If you think and it by the time you get two stock one you could have got one of the good ones. Just don't want to be stranded on the side of the road.

I've been running the adm rear driveshaft now for a while. They are nice and seem to hold the power good. I twisted my stock driveshaft sled pulling and I couldn't believe gm wanted over $900 for the thing.

I'll give them a call later to see what they offer. I really don't trust the stock paper thin feeling one. I like the yolk from hooker diesel a few posts ago.

1050 seems very steep. I think we were quatoed around half that for a 4" steel shaft with 1480 u joints

I remember reading in here that that they said you can't use a steal one on the street due to flex and the length. I may be wrong. When I called he said I better go with the aluminum one.

My Ecsb came factory with steel shaft 1480. The ec dually my buddy has is a aluminum shaft, think it has 1410s. 1410s suck 1480 will hold good in most 2.6 trucks even

driveshaft

he said it was thicker then stock and would live at the power, I am still looking. I want to get a locker for the rear and one of the billet yolks from dirtyhooker.

I got my rear aluminum shaft with 1480 joints from dirtyhookerdiesel for less than that. It is a 5" CCI shaft, it has a thicker wall than the stock one, this company also built my front prop shaft and im really happy with their work.
